Week 9: Top Games
Upland (8-0) vs. Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos (6-2) - The "game of the year" in the Inland Empire pits the Baseline League rivals in a game with league championship implications. Upland running back Donta Abron will carry the load for the Highlanders in hopes of adding onto his 1,128 yard rushing season against a Los Osos defense that has been susceptible to the run. The Upland Highlanders will overpower the Grizzlies and comfortably get the win.
Santa Margarita (7-1) vs. Bellflower St. John Bosco (6-1) - The rain could put a damper on the strong Bosco passing attack, led by California commit Bryce Treggs, but expect the two-headed monster of DaVonte Young and Royce Moore at running back to carry the Braves' offense. Running back Ryan Wolpin has had an impressive 11 touchdown season thus far for the Eagles and looks to take advantage of the playing conditions that favor the running game. With a playoff birth on the line, St. John Bosco will narrowly escape with the victory.
Mission Hills Alemany (6-2) vs. Los Angeles Loyola (7-1) - Alemany will have its toughest defensive challenge of the season against Loyola's effective and deceptive running game, led by Wyatt Bradford. Alemany and quarterback Devon Dunn have the athleticism to match Loyola, but the Cubs have matched up well all season against athletic teams. Loyola will pull out a solid victory and claim the Sierra League title.
