With no byes this week, our list consists of players who are available in a majority of leagues and are solid plays for your team before we get back to more byes in Week 11.
*** All references to points are based off of ESPN.com's Fantasy Football point system ***
QB: Last week I had Matt Ryan (21 points) and Alex Smith (12 points). Let’s see if I can’t make up for that mistake of trusting Alex Smith…
Tim Tebow – Regardless of what you think about him as an NFL QB, this guy can put up some huge fantasy points. He has scored 20+ points in 5 of his 6 starts and he put up 16 in the 4th quarter of that amazing comeback against Miami earlier this year. GO TEBOWING!
Carson Palmer – Again, we must put aside our thoughts about his W-L. Palmer put up 19 points against the Broncos despite throwing 3 INT’s. If he can keep the INT’s down, he could put up a 20 spot on the Chargers who have been getting lit up by everyone, even Mark Sanchez.
RB: Last week I said to play Shonn Greene (7 points) and Jackie Battle (4 points). I must own up and apologize to anyone, including myself, who banked on either of these backs. This week will be much better, I promise…
Roy Helu – He ran into one of the best defenses in the league last week vs. the 49ers and still put up 12 fantasy points. It is very clear that for now Helu will be getting the majority of the carries as long as he isn’t tired. He gets the privilege of running against the Dolphins this week.
Chris Ogbonnaya – He only put up 1 fantasy point last week. But he will be getting a lot of carries this week with Hillis and Hardesty still out. Ogbonnaya will get a great opportunity to prove his worth against the lackluster St. Louis Rams.
WR: Last week I recommended Julio Jones (28 points) and Jordy Nelson (16 points). That’s what Charlie Sheen would call BI-WINNING! Let’s keep the ball rolling this week…
Antonio Brown – Brown put up 10 fantasy points against the Ravens last week while getting more targets than speedster Mike Wallace. He is slowly becoming one of Big Ben’s favorite targets; pick him up while you can.Torrey Smith – Torrey not only made the GW TD catch vs. the Steelers, but put up 13 fantasy points as well. He has had some big games this year, and it proving to be more consistent as the year goes on. This week, he gets to face the Seahawks with Joe Flacco starting to hit his stride. What's not to love about the dreads?
TE: Last week wasn’t such a great week for TE’s, Gresham was scratched game time and Celek put up a measly 6 points. This time, I expect big things from both these men…
Jake Ballard – Ballard put up 12 fantasy points against the Patriots last week. This week he will be working against the likes of Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman, but that didn’t stop Brandon Pettigrew. Eli is beginning to develop a connection with his TE, I see at least 1 TD here.
Scott Chandler – He started the season hot, and then cooled off in the middle. I expect him and the rest of the Bills to have a big comeback game against the Cowboys this week. Chandler will have his work cut out for him as the Cowboys linebackers struggle greatly in coverage.D/ST: Let’s just say that last week the defenses I selected combined for negative points. I fully expect that to change this week…
Browns D/ST – The Browns get the privilege of playing the less than impressive Rams offense this week. With their solid run defense, Steven Jackson shouldn’t be able to do too much. That could lead to a lot of turnovers by whoever is playing QB for the Rams.
Jacksonville D/ST – Again, this is a matchup based play as the Jags get to face the Colts and their dynamic offense. They played great against the Ravens, forcing turnovers and allowing no space to operate. I expect much of the same this week against a much less physical and talented Colts team.
