College Football - Top Games: Week 14

It's conference championship week and BCS bowl berths are on the line. Alabama and LSU are considered locks for the National Championship game and Oregon clinched a Rose Bowl berth last night with a 49-31 win over UCLA. The seven remaining BCS bowl bids are up for grabs today. Here's a preview of the top three games to watch today.

No. 14 Georgia vs No. 1 LSU (1:00 PM PT on CBS) - For the first time in five years, the winner of the SEC Championship game might not make the BCS National Championship game. The reason? College football analysts and sportswriters across the country have all but guaranteed that LSU will make the national title game even if they lose the SEC Championship game to Georgia. Does that seem fair? No. But LSU has proved all season that they are the best football team in the country and that might not change even if they finish the regular season with a loss. All this talk is for naught, though, because LSU will win the SEC Championship game tonight and enter the National Championship game as the undisputed No. 1 team in the country. The Tigers' two quarterback attack of Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson has fooled defenses all season and their defense is one of the best in college football history. Georgia will keep it close for the first half but LSU will pull away in the third quarter. PICK: LSU

No. 10 Oklahoma at No. 3 Oklahoma State (5:00 PM PT on ABC) - The unofficial Big-12 Championship game features one of the greatest rivalries in college football. Oklahoma has won the past eight meetings in the Bedlam Series but they will be facing the best Oklahoma State team in nearly two decades tonight in Stillwater. The Oklahoma State combo of Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon are good as quarterback-wide receiver tandems come and their defense has been consistently good all year. Both defenses will have their hands full tonight, as Oklahoma State averages nearly 50 points a game and Landry Jones and the Oklahoma offense average 43 points per game. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy and Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops are two of the top coaches in the country, but Gundy has yet to win the big game during his coaching tenure at Oklahoma State. Tonight's contest will be the game that Cowboy fans have been waiting for for eight years. PICK: Oklahoma State

No. 15 Wisconsin vs No. 13 Michigan State (5:15 PM PT on FOX) - The inaugural Big 10 Championship is a re-match of the best regular season game of the 2011 college football season. When they met on October 22, Michigan State won on a Hail Mary as time expired to get the 37-31 victory. Don't expect the same tonight. The Wisconsin Badgers have grown into a complete team since falling to Michigan State and they become a team worthy of a Rose Bowl bid. Their leader has been running back Montee Ball, who has tallied 1622 yards and 29 touchdowns, five short of the single season NCAA rushing touchdowns record. Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins has been stellar this season, throwing for 2735 yards, 21 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. Everyone is picking Wisconsin to win and, as you know, I hate to go with the conventional pick. But I have to go with Ball and the Badgers tonight. Expect roses in the Badgers mouths after a huge win over Michigan State. PICK: Wisconsin
