High School Football Repot: Final Rankings

With Southern Section play in the books, I have compiled the final rankings for the 2011 high school football season. 2011 was a fantastic year for high school football in Southern California. From Santa Margarita quarterback Johnny Stanton's emergence as the best quarterback in Southern California to Tesoro's wild upset of top-ranked Servite, this season was filled with its fair share of unbelievable story lines. We will provide a preview of the State Championship bowl games tomorrow but, for now, here is the list of the best 25 high school football teams in the Southern Section in 2011.

1. Santa Margarita (12-2) - Pac-5; Division 1 State Championship vs. San Jose Bellarmine (12-1)

2. Westlake (14-0) - Northern; Open Division State Championship vs. Concord De La Salle (12-1)

3. Vista Murrieta (9-5)* - Inland; Inland Division Champions

4. Narbonne (11-3) - City; L.A. Section Division 1 Champions

5. San Clemente (12-2) - Pac-5; Pac-5 Division Runner-ups

6. Corona Centennial (12-2) - Inland; Inland Division Runner-ups

7. Oaks Christian (11-3) - Northern; Northern Division Runner-ups

8. Upland (12-1) - Inland; Inland Division Semi-Finalists

9. Mission Viejo (10-3) - Pac-5; Pac-5 Division Semi-Finalists

10. Servite (10-2) - Pac-5; Pac-5 Division Quarterfinalists

11. St. Bonaventure (10-3) - Northern; Northern Division Semi-Finalists

12. Arroyo Grande (13-1) - Western; Western Division Champions
